Yamaraj tells the queens of Usinara that the Lord protects the child in the womb so will always continue to protect. The queens may ask why has the Supreme Lord not been given protection to our husband now? What is the answer that Srila Prabhupada provides in this chapter? Sometimes one loses money on street but it remains protected by destiny, however money safe in-home or bank is lost. So, similarly, everything runs by will of the Lord The Lord is completely competent to destroy and protect The Lord is always free, and therefore He can protect and can also annihilate. A child is certainly dependent on his father and mother, but in spite of their presence, the child is harassed in many ways. It is all will of the Lord. Sometimes, in spite of a supply of good medicine and an experienced physician, a patient does not survive. It is all will of the Lord.1 The Lord can do so because He is Supreme. No one can question His activities. If the Lord is answerable to us concerning why He does something and why He does not, His supremacy would be curtailed. The Supreme Lord likes to create and annihilate things If the Supreme Lord gives one protection, even though one has no protector and is in the jungle, one remains alive, whereas a person well protected at home by relatives and others sometimes dies, no one being able to protect him. The Lord does not create this material world at anyone’s request, and therefore He can annihilate everything merely by His will. The Lord is not our order carrier; whatever He likes He will do. The Lord revokes protection for people who become envious of Him The Supreme Lord did not protect as the King was not following Vedic culture To prove His omnipotence He can do anything, and no one can question Him. 12. How, in spite of our being conditioned by the laws of material nature, we shall become free to attain our original constitution? By having firm faith that the Lord is supreme and that if we surrender to Him, He will take charge of us and indicate how we can get out of material life and return home, back to Godhead. Intelligently apply his activities to the service of the Lord to become free from the material bondage of repeated birth and death (sva-karmaṇā tam abhyarcya siddhiṁ vindati mānavaḥ). By aiming to merge in the Brahmjyoti of the Lord By understanding that we are spirit soul and same as Paramatma, so if we negate all material activities, we will become liberated, like the Supreme Lord Spiritual education changes one’s consciousness so that one simply carries out the orders of the Supreme Lord and becomes free from the influence of the modes of material nature. 13.
